Patient stories

Sample words from patients, for you to replace with your own.

  • “I was nervous about veneers. Dr. Lefevre showed me the options on a model, told me what can't be undone, and never hurried me. I went home with a written plan and time to think.”

    Willa CrenshawPorcelain veneers
  • “Everything was explained before it began: the steps, the visits and the after-care. The front desk went through my benefits before I came in, so I knew what to expect.”

    Gavin QuinlanDental implant
  • “The consultation was a conversation, not a sales pitch. I left with my questions answered and a plan I could think about for a week.”

  • “I hadn't seen a dentist in years and said so. Nobody made me feel bad about it. We went one visit at a time, and I could raise a hand whenever I needed a pause.”

  • “He asked which shade I had in mind, showed me what to expect and explained the sensitivity I might feel. It felt like my decision.”

  • Your options explained, including waiting

  • A written plan and estimate before work begins

  • A pause whenever you raise a hand

Meet Dr. Alexander Lefevre

Dr. Lefevre founded Aurum Dental to give cosmetic and restorative dentistry the time it needs: long visits, a plain explanation of each option and a plan in writing.

He is a general dentist. He sees every patient himself, and when a treatment is better done at another office he says so and refers you.

  • Referrals to other offices when needed

How your first visits go

In the order they happen, with no treatment until you say yes.

  1. 01

    Step 1: A private conversation

You and the dentist talk through what you would like to change and what worries you, before anyone looks in your mouth.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Exam and imaging

Your dentist examines your teeth and gums, and takes X-rays or photographs when they decide you need them.

  3. 03

Step 3: A plan in writing

You leave with a written plan, an estimate and time to think it over.

  4. 04

Step 4: Treatment when you decide

Work begins only when you say yes, and you can pause it at any point.

How we work

Good dentistry includes how a visit feels, not only the work itself.

  • Unhurried visits

We set appointments long enough that nobody is watching the clock.

  • Careful craft

Each restoration is planned and finished with care, and we say where a result will differ from your natural teeth.

  • Plain answers

No jargon and no pressure. We explain your options and respect your decision.

Common questions

What people ask before a first visit.

01What happens at a first visit?

You meet the dentist and talk through what you would like. Then you have an exam, with X-rays if the dentist decides you need them. You leave with a written plan and an estimate, and no pressure to start.

02Do you take my insurance?

We file claims for dental PPO and indemnity plans, and we check your plan's benefits before you come in. DHMO plans, Medicare and Medicare Advantage work differently, so call us first. How fees work lists each plan type.

03What if I feel anxious at the dentist?

Tell us when you book. We explain each step before it happens, agree a signal for a pause, and go at your pace. You can bring headphones.

04Can I get an estimate before I decide?

Yes. We give a written estimate in advance to anyone paying without insurance, and to anyone who asks.
