“I was nervous about veneers. Dr. Lefevre showed me the options on a model, told me what can't be undone, and never hurried me. I went home with a written plan and time to think.”
Common questions
What people ask before a first visit.
01Do you take my insurance?
We file claims for dental PPO and indemnity plans, and we check your plan's benefits before you come in. DHMO plans, Medicare and Medicare Advantage work differently, so call us first. How fees work lists each plan type.
02What if I don't have insurance?
You pay the fee for each visit, and your dentist writes down what a treatment will cost before it begins. Ask us for a written estimate when you book. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.
03Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?
How fees work says which plan types we file with and which we don't. If we are not the right office for your plan, we will help you find one.
04Will it hurt?
Your dentist numbs the area before treatment that needs it and checks that it has taken. You can raise a hand at any point for a pause. We can't promise you will feel nothing, and we would rather you told us when something doesn't feel right.
05How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?
Your dentist decides, from your teeth, your gums and your history. Some people come twice a year, some more often and some less. We tell you why.
06What is a deep cleaning?
A deep cleaning cleans below the gumline. Your dentist may recommend one when an exam finds gum disease. It is done over one or two visits, usually with numbing, and the dentist explains it before it begins.
07Do you see children?
Our practice is for adults and teenagers. For younger children we are glad to refer you to a dentist who sees them.
08What counts as a dental emergency?
Call us for a broken or knocked-out tooth, or severe toothache or swelling in the mouth, and we will fit you in when we can. Swelling that spreads to your face or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, or bleeding that won't stop needs an emergency room or 911.
09Do you offer sedation?
We don't give sedation in this office. If you would like it, we can refer you to a dental office that does. If you are anxious, tell us when you book and we will plan the visit around it.
10Can I get a written estimate before treatment?
Yes. We give one in advance to anyone paying without insurance, and to anyone else who asks. It lists the treatment, the visits it takes and the fee.
11Do you speak Spanish?
Visits here are in English. If you would like someone with you to interpret, tell us when you book and we will plan for it.
12How do I cancel or change a visit?
Call us as early as you can, and we will find another time that suits you. If the office is closed, leave a message.

“Everything was explained before it began: the steps, the visits and the after-care. The front desk went through my benefits before I came in, so I knew what to expect.”
